And when I say "the game is crap" it is not a personal insult (unless you are the author of said game, perhaps). And even then, it's about the object, not the person.
Quite different from "I will come and get your wife" etc. etc. But it seems that lots of people here takes games as personal insults, and resorts to real personal insults to drive the point. I will not come to this, though, and joke on the wife of anyone. I will happily keep on crapping on d20, though, whenever I feel.
Finally, I don't care a IOTA about RQ. So, crap on it as you wish. I like BRP and Stormbringer. Feel free to crap on them as you wish, too. But if you start getting personal, I feel free to get personal, too.
Regarding the big roast...we will see it soon with d20 Conan  . RQ has been around here for the last 30 years, not the same fate of d20, it seems.
Dude, it's funny when I respond to someone who has made clear attempts to be insulting and they claim, "I am not out to antagonize you at all." Right man, your previous post was the epitome of graceful speaking meant to enlighten all and had no malicious intent at all.
I never said anything about anyone's wife, but I GOT the analogy Strom was making. Some of us have devoted a significant amount of time and effort with OGL Conan. Some of us are happy with that time spent. Some of us take offense when guys like you just go on and on about how much you dislike our game of choice and are actively trying to bring it down on the board created to promote it.
I don't care about BRP or Stormbringer. Much like my feelings of RQ used to be, my attitude is 'meh' about them. If you like them, great. You want to use them to run Conan, have fun converting it. But d20s been around longer than RQ as D&D. D&D 4e is selling in the top 2,000 books at Amazon. RuneQuest...that's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down the list at the 450 k range. If you think that's got a chance to beat d20...well, keep dreaming.
