Amera Terrain Scale Pics

Just finished up some Amera terrain pieces from their Future Zone range.

I think these look real good with SST and thought i'd drop some images on here so you can see.

It's all available at http://www.amera.co.uk

very cool looking mate!
I often wonder about the amera stuff, it's cheap, but looks liek a lot of work to make it look good. :?

Cheers dude!

It's not too bad. I undercoated it with some roughcoat then a bit of brown where i thought the dirt would go. Then some black ink on the wall sections. Then fortress grey dry brush on walls and grave yard earth dry brush on the dirt.

Though i still got 2 large buildings an entire road, a small building and some barricades to do yet, so i might not be as chirpy about the work into em later.

Also check out the larger building i'm working on.

Looks good, 127th. :D

I've wanted to get some of the Amera stuff as well. I remember that Mr. Evil made good use of it in his city blocks.

Ah, Mr. Evil. I remember the lad. To what fearful fate has he befallen?

Iirc, he moved on due to some dispute. It happens.

He wanted pre-paints as he doesn't have time. He put a lot of money into BF:Evo and when it did not continue, he decided he wouldn't have time for it anymore. He now airsofts instead.

The buildings look good, ahh roughcoat, Didn't think of that. The bases need a bit of work though IMHO.

Cheers Rob, i know what you mean about the bases i've not decided whether i'm going to cut them down the actual models, paint and flock them or just paint them yet.

I had some contact with Matt (Mr Evil) just before christmas. He's doing ok, just got himself a new lady. He'll be back at some point i reckon. He's a great modeller and painter and has LOADS of mini's. I hope he'll come back. If there is another mongoose tag team tourney i'll call him up and see if he wants to put the dream team back together for another run. :)

He was totally bummed out about BFE after spending so much money (like me) and getting an incomplete game.
I doubt he'll spend another penny with Mongoose, i won't :D

PS the Amera building look great when done up, great work.

They are sturdy enough for gaming. Not like someone leaning on them though!

also they can take a good beating as they are sturdy plastic. Definately worth it for the price! :)

I'd glue a few more bits to the bases to add a bit more flavor, but otherwise they look excellent. I'll have to keep them on the list for future terrain.

It is all vac formed but the plastic isn't flimsy so it works.

It's all fairly solid once glued, on the bigger buildings it can be a good idea to add a base to the building to allow you a bit more support.

My examples still need some flocking to set them off but these are good examples of what can be achieved by a poor painter and 45 mins.

i am starting some barracades tonight and roads later in the week so will add more pics of how they measure up with SST stuff.

Oh, and the wall are 1cm thick

Cheers for the good comments dudes.

1cm thick! Thats much thicker than I thought!
You sure you don't mean 1mm!?

I've had my eye on them for a while, and saw that they looked thicker than 1mm but wasn't sure if they were a full 1cm. Also wondered if they were solid or hollow.

I have some of their small hills that are 1cm thick and hollow. Surprisingly they're pretty resilient though. You could even use them for molds for plaster or maybe spray insulation terrain. :)
