Alien Book Droyne & Minor Alien Books

1) Are you guys close to finish the Droyne Book? Not to complain, but isnt it a year late or so. Although I can understand that life sometimes make you put projects on hold. Im just curious.

2) For the players/collectors and fans of the Third Imperium: Are the Minor Alien Books worth to buy or are they so racially localized that it is hard to incorperate them into a campaign if not in the same subsector?

My understanding is that Droyne is close, but the author is also one of the busiest people in Traveller.

The Minor books released so far are Darrians and Luriani. While both have home territories that run to one or two subsectors, both can be found outside those home areas, and both have had significant events in history. The Luriani don't really have the current sector support to appreciate fully unless you have older materials, but the Darrians can be found all over the Marches.

How involved these are going to be in your game is entirely up to you.

darrians, I believe is a major alien book. I meant the series "Minor Alien races" or what they are called with the Luriani

Thanks :)

Ps. I have all the 5 alien races books, and I love Solomania nd Darrians :)

The Darrians are a Minor Race, and the Darrians book from Mongoose sets the format for later Minor Race books. The only other one of those so far is Luriani. A Major Race book includes an entire sector, while a Minor Race book includes just the subsector they call home. I can think of a few Minor Races that should be on the short list, but as noted we have four Majors to go (Vilani, Droyne, Hivers and K'kree)

I am finally refocused on finishing this book. Sadly, I put everyone else's priorities over my own.

And I tossed two chapters I didn't like and am rewriting them from scratch. But I am trying to finish before the Christmas holiday.

I know that the darrians are a Minor race. What I meant was that they got an "Alien Module" type of book, while the Luriani got a "Minor Alien Module" type of book. And my Question was if there are more "Minor Alien Module" Type of books?

Sort of. The format for Major Race books is well established, but the Minor Race format is still a bit fluid. Darrians was also published before they decided to differentiate the book titles more, I think.

Don't rush it Don, we know it fell behind due to health reasons amongst other things.

Yes take your time and do it right after all good things come to those who wait.

Oh, I did not know and I am sorry to hear that. I hope you are better now.
You will finish the book when you are done with it. Don't rush it!

From (recent) personal experience, wanting to get more stuff done in weekends, you can either plan breaks from some work or your body/mind will plain just stop and refuse to work until you've had a rest.

Currently I am working on MAM2 (Suerrat btw) however I've had a few issues in my personal life that have been demanding my attention. Just started work on it again.

I love the Darrians and the Sword Worlders are good, even though Sword Worlders are mainline Humaniti.

The Luriani are quite useable outside of the Ley Sector, it's quite reasonable for any alien group in Charted Space to have had a colony ship head off a long way to set up a new society, so a Luriani colony in your preferred subsector, or even just a community on a space station is quite fine.

I also look forward to the Droyne book, but I would also like to see the Hiver and K'kree. The lizards that serve the Hiver would justify a minor alien book all on their own.

I've been working on the Jonkereen a bit. I wonder if it would be worth submitting something to Matt. There is so little about these interesting, genetically engineered people, yet they are all over Deneb, the Marches and even Foreven...

I'm checking to see what the status of the Droyne book is. I'm assuming that at this point if it happens it will be a MT2 book. I hope it happens, since the Droyne are my favorite of the Traveller species.

Unfortunately the author is no longer with us. Don't know what will happen with the material that has already been written.
