Aircraft carriers and planes

Hello,

My questions has to do with planes. There are 20 pages of discussion and I worked through the first five pages. I did not come closr to finding an answer. Here goes guns in this game fire up to 30+ inches. So the aircraft carrier should stay outside of this range. How long are the planes able to fly before starting to fall from the sky. Example if a plane takes three turns to get to its target does it attack and starts home that would make it seven turns in the air if all goes well. There is no maximum time stated. I am wondering if I missed the rule or does one do a house rule.

No time limit. Just fly until their load is spent or they are shot down. If you survive you can return to your carrier and get used again.

BTW there are a lot of guns which fire more than 30". If you don't want to put a carrier at risk then use land based planes. They will have to spend more time in the air though.

The catch to carriers is the farther they are from the enemy the less your planes can do since it takes time to return then reload and then fly to there quarry again.
