As long as they bring out US Army next year I'm not fussed with other factions. Vatican Papal Army probably wouldn't work though.

ditto, never count out the Vatican... there plotting something *shifty eyes*

a ASAN force would be interesting... Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia together would make for a hell of a force...

Possible new Factions though:

- African Union / Warlords
- Russia
- Southern Pacific Economic Concern

How about the S.A.U.? South American Union. (that would pit the SAU, USMC,EFTF and others in Central American and Mexico + possible Falklands part II.

Heh. There's other things you could call it too. Confederation of South American Nations is another one you can use...

African forces would be badassed. . . child soldiers and the like of horror would not be welcomed in a game of modern warfare (mongoose cut one of my posts on ugly stuff like this out recently).
But African forces would make real sense. . . given all the wealth this continent has to offer for those who have the balls to take it.

How do you guys think the Russians will come along? High tech or simply manpower and quantity equipment?

I'd say Columbia deals with Chavez before it gets to that point though. And Cuba will probably change after Castro's death, since his brother doesn't seem to have what it takes to keep going. As for a drug cartel taking over a country, it would have to be really big and move really fast, least the other cartels decide to take it on or even one of the neighboring countries.... problem with being a big fish is that the little fish will band together against you.

Well here in México they are days we think its happened. The Drug cartel may appear not much but they can simply buy the country’s Police and some Army elements. In México they heaved. They are able to simply get them in the pay roll.

Fore example: local police in Culiacan Sinaloa (1500 officers). Local police get some $5,000.00 Pesos ($450 US) a month and the cartels pay them another 5,000.00. A nice deal to get the locals to escort your shipments.

A year ago all in Laredo Tamaulipas all the local police was arrested and disarmed by the Federal police and Army after 3 police chiefs were killed in a month.

And they are well equipped with the fanciest US gadgets. Last month there was a pretty big shoot out in a little town of Morelia state with a .50 cal and seven armored hummers. The Méxican army deploys on hummers but not armored, poor troopers got shredded.

Interesting. . . can you armour an Hummer to withstand small arms fire? I mean, can that cart carry the extra weight?
Would be an unit for BFE. . .

They call them 'Up Armored' HMMWV's. They exist, and are becoming more and more prevolent. These are the armored vehicles that were brought up in that newsbyte a few years back, where Rumsfeld was answering questions to the troops. (where he later stated, rather accurately : "You go to war with the army you have, not the army you want").

Those UpArmors can run over anti-personnel mines all day... But a big enough IED, or an EFP, or an anti-armor RPG can ruin it's day.

I've seen pictures of the glass 'suspending' three .50 rounds done in lab conditions!

.50 in a lab. . .
Very well. It would be nice to now how much speed the change costs. Does the armour consist of steel or something more sophisticated?

It's a bit slower acceleration wise...
And the armor is just steel. Still better than the 'farmer armor' folks were adding on themselves though.

Thrice bedamned door is so heavy I nearly broke my tib/fib on it.

Let us just say: I won't do that again.

You'll be happy to know, Britneyfan, they've started installing door hooks on those doors so if you roll over or otherwise get stuck inside, your buddies can rip the door off and get you out.

I heard about an exterior release... for those trapped within after an IED blast. But I never got that familiar with them.
I was spending more time in aircraft or suburbans than anything else.

My cousin just got the crap blown out of him by an IED while riding in an uparmored humvee.

He's injured, resting in texas now after stays in an Iraqi field hospital, then Germany, and finally homebound. They thought he was going to be paralyzed, but he is going to be ok.

Injured yeah, but not dead. The uparmored saved him. Not bad for a big jeep that is being used outside its role.
