Advice on New Campaign

Misjump in time to an earlier era or alternate reality (or both).
If I was to play with this idea, I would need to determine what technology looks like in whatever era I drop them in. I have been looking around and I do not find any indication of how long, in general, does it take for a general uplift from one tech level to another.

How long did it take for the Imperium to go from TL 13 to TL 14 and then to TL 15, Because jumping them into the future would mean a bump in tech.

The Travellermap has different eras available to explore, so you can use the Travellermap to get all of the planetary details of those different eras.

Not if it were post apocalyptic. If the PCs somehow make it back to the home timeline they might then have to try and fix it to avoid the apocalypse or at least find how to survive it.
That was the thought going through my mind, Some 300-400 years pass an then Charted space was invaded by an outside force, mass war ensued followed my a dark period. The played jump XXX number of years into the future to find the devastation. The find information on how this happened and then look for a way back to see if they can change what is going to happen.

The culprit is the players and now they have to undo what they did. (Go back and kill their earlier selves and take their place but do things right this time?).

Temporal paradox. Can’t kill their earlier selves or they die. They need to reeducate themselves.
Maybe. Maybe not. Re-educate themselves and they don't do the time jump and they erase the people who re-educated them meaning they don't get the re-education and the future is unchanged. A paradox. So no matter what a paradox. You have to choose WHAT paradox.

Oh BTW I have come across the word Shutterwarp but have no idea what it is. A quick search said that it is a pseudo-FTL for 2300AD. but no real information on how it works.

I believe the actual word was Stutterwarp - it was an alternative tech listed in Fire, Fusion & Steel for the T:NE system, although I don't know if that's where it originated.
