Adventures for MRQII?

What plans (if any) are there for adventures for RuneQuest II?

Personally, for my own gaming needs, I don't find much utility in books like Arms & Equipment, etc. Instead, I would be grateful for some decent adventures, especially a couple of 'beginner' ones to help new GMs and players understand the system.

Thanks in advance for any information concerning any upcoming adventures! :)

Ex Cathredra is out for the Deus Vult setting. It is three linked scenarios.

Pavis Rises is a (Gloranthan) campaign that was supposed to be one of the early RQ2 releases but got delayed. It was just mentioned on the Mongoose Blog that it should be released around the middle of this year.

Man Pavis Rises looked like it was going to be a great starting off point for our group. I still have a preorder I changed earlier this week because it wasnt going to ship out till this book was released. So now we are going to run Blood of Orlanth and possibly Dara Happa Stirs with some conversion tweaks.

Thanks for your reply, Rurik.

Perhaps I should have been more precise in my original inquiry. I'm looking for an 'intro' adventure to test out the system -- ideally, a somewhat 'generic' adventure (i.e., one that could be plugged into different settings), although I appreciate that designing good 'generic' adventures can be difficult. A non-generic adventure would be fine as well, as long as it does not presuppose too much knowledge of the setting (e.g. Glorantha) on the part of the players and the GM.

I'm afraid that I don't have any interest in the Deus Vult setting, and I doubt that adventures designed for that setting would be easy to use with other settings.

Pavis Rising looks interesting, but it seems to be a full-blown campaign, and obviously Glorantha-specific. While I'm moderately interested in Glorantha (unlike Deus Vult), a full campaign is not the type of thing that I have in mind (although it may be something I'd be interested in down the line, i.e., after testing out the system).

Two systems very familiar to MRQII -- viz., BRP and OpenQuest -- offer a number of basic adventures. I guess that I was hoping that something similar would be available for RuneQuest II, for folks who are interested in 'testing out' the system.

You can run old adventures created for MRQ1 with just small conversions.

And for MRQ1, there is plenty of adventures available on Sign & Portents magazine, and it is free download. I suggest you to take a look of them.

Actually, an anthology of interesting one shot fantasy adventures in lots of different settings and eras, would be a pretty good book to buy. Well, I'd buy it anyway.

We have just such a book coming out later this year!

Thanks for the suggestion. Are there any in particular that you would recommend?

Interesting. I look forward to checking it out once it becomes available.

Here are a few I liked. Some tweaks may be necessary to make them challenging for your players. These are all from the S&P sticky above, although there were some pretty cool vignettes/seed adventures in S&P #79 (I think- I particularly liked the dragon bugs idea!) that were MRQ2 specific. They are all pretty Glorantha heavy, but you could probably tweak that out of them if you wanted.

Raven in the Roost.................S&P 35- A funny little adventure that features Ducks. Duck's are the best  :D

A Recipe for Disaster..............S&P 41- This is a cool one too for beginning adventurers, but will require Monster coliseum (for swarm rules) and may need a bit of work to convert (I don't remember seeing lurker stats in the new Monster coli)

Tors and Tombs.....................S&P 42- I always thought this ran really easily. Probably the easiest to convert. (I think...)

Vignettes...............................S&P 43- These are very cool, but a bit open ended...which makes them perfect for conversion and even as "passing through" adventures in the middle of a greater campaign.

Bad Dreams..........................S&P 48- A clever little adventure, probably in need of some tweaks and conversions, but easily the weirdest...and I like weird, so, I like it
:D
