Heya folks

In core book it States that a Human can start between 3-18 and cannot advance further than 21 in a stat.
The question is how does he do that? I cannot seem to find any rules conserning this??

Improving characteristics is on page 51.

Raising one from 10 to 11 costs 10 Improvement Rolls, and so forth.

Speaking for my game, I always like the training, and training scrolls aspect of old school RQ and have incorporated them into my game.

During down time I allow my players to train a stat in a way that is appropriate (Strength and/ or DEX training for gladiators, INT training in a library for Mage/scholars/nerds, CHA training for Lords and ladies, CON training from hunters, monks, etc). At the end of the training a Stat x 5 roll is made. If the roll is greater than the amount, I allow 1d4+1 IR towards the Stats improvement. Under, 1IR. Critical- 6 IRs. Fumble: -1d4 IRs.

In this way stats can be improved faster and PCs feel like they aren't quite so stuck with the lot they've rolled Stat wise.

Just a simple solution I've come up with that works for our group. They were getting antsy and liked the old training rules more, so I went for an amicable, simple middle ground.

Ohh *blush* next time read befor asking thx for the replies, and the downtime idea gj

No, ask first and read later.

Sometimes you can't find a rule even though you know it's there. If you ask then people tell you straight away. If you search through the rulebook it could take weeks to find the rule.
