Advanced rules for indoor Close Quarters Battles?

yeah destroying buildongs will be a anti comand squad tactic i recon, i can see the pla using alot of tanks as a seconday force just eliminationg buildings enemy are hidding in, or eliminating building on their side so their own troops can enter and use it as cover that enemy cant blow away.

I can hear the radio chatter now:

"Tango one, Charley company, copy."
"Charley company, Tango one copy."
"Tango one need HE on target, second building left of mosque."
"Charley company, copy, HE on second building left of mosque. What the hell is in there Charley company?"
"Nothing Tango one. We just need the +2 to Target and Kill scores." :)

You missed
"Charley one, is the second building to the left of the mosque on the other side of coke can?"
"Negative Tango one, the coke can is the second building to the left of the mosque."

Gotta love proxies.

You make a valid point cordas although given the fact that two type 99s were defending the building you'd think that there was something worth shooting at in it.

If you can make a valid arguement for shooting it then fine, but it has to be valid, are those Type 99 really guarding the building or are they just stationed behind / beside it. I just know that with some players I know, they would allways be able to "justify" just having too shoot that particular building. I would argue the only valid justification would be I saw a unit running into that building, I got shot at from that building, my guys ran into that building and died or I have guys within X inches who can see models through windows or open doors.

I am not sure there is an answer to this, but lets just wait and see what the main rules say.

Does tanks protecting one building by not allowing anything to get to it although they allow you free reign over the rest of the buildings count?

I'd also pretty much gone through the other buildings. Logic being that if they weren't in the first four buildings then they are in the fifth one.

If not then there was less than a fire team of PLA standing behind the building when some of my troops got in around it and shot at them. Logic being that if there are only two guys here the rest have to be 6 inches away...only thing around that obscures sight and is within 6" was the building.

Although then you get into arguments about communications and how do the MEA communicate with one another (I'd like to think mobiles, satellite phones and walkie-talkies).

Hence the difficulty of making a universal rule, if you have checked everywhere else then its obvious to check it.... but because you can see where your opponent has put models, it would be easy to say well there is a tank guarding that building so I will destroy it, or you equally say well because that building is miles away from their units I think that is an obvious target because they are trying to trick me otherwise...

That's why we need tactical nukes. I *was* aiming for the tank...not my fault that the rest of the board was in the blast radius.

I agree that it's a cheap shot if you haven't actually cleared buildings. But I do think that it may become the norm to actually level all buildings on the board. But that's how warfare works, unless of course there is a rule about acceptable damage to buildings in each sides ROE.

Nukes are cool, but it would make 1st turn rather important.... In fact it would be the only die that need be rolled, making for much quicker games so you could fit hundreds into a single day....

Considers freezing myself Cartman style untill the ADM comes out....

You probably wouldn't even need a nuke. a MOAB would probably do. Although if you think about it, if both sides take nukes there won't be many models on the board and both armies would already be shattered!

naaa 1 stripped squad of USMC gives 5 men at 105 points, then 3 nukes at 300 points (Pee Wee from SST) gives you a 1000 point force *GRIN*

Thats 8 models so a SP of 2, you deploy your 5 men and then launch all 3 nukes....

You fool! You can't deploy Pee Wees without atomic protocols. You need at least a command squad and then buy atomic protocols for the leiutenant. That's more than 1000pts.

Hmmm bummer.... Will have to say thats SST and we are playing BF, so sod off  8)

They're getting one in a couple of waves. But yes, for the time being the Brits have the bomb and no one else can use it.

So we're back to Rule Britania.

My most annoying moment was trying to send RPG rounds into walls (inside buildings) to try and create kill zones that would hit the models inside and then finding that you can't hit something that is not a model ergo you can't shoot at walls or the ground and hope that splash damage carries :x

I thought you could form your fire point anywhere?
IIRC it does not have to be centred on a target, so you can fire into the building, assuming you have LOS and line of fire to your fire point

Am I missing something?

Yes you can fire anywhere, but where do you allocate the AD? You can currently only allocate AD to a model.

That's exactly the problem. Without a model within LOS you can't hit anything under the current rules. You can establish the fire zone but you can't do anything with that zone.
