Just to let you all know the second Noble Armada tournament will be taking place on July 16th, so make the event in your diaries and tell the missus you'll be out on the day, fighting for your noble house!

Full details will be posted next week.

Hope it's 1500 points, not 1000. I have enough destroyers (4) for a 1500 point game, but not a 1000 point game, seems weird but it's true.

lol 4 is only 720pts. what you mean is you can make a fleet with 4 destroyers better at 1500pts than at 1000pts.

LBH 1500pts fleet?:
4 destroyers
1 battleship
3 explorers
extra troops

Exactly, 1000 point Hawkwood fleet is 5 destroyers + 2 Scouts (more than I have), but as you say 1500 points you bring a big ship into the mix and can compensate, eespecially with a dreadnought, but even then 5 destroyers would be handy if you want to go for a cruiser rather than a dreadnought.

The factor for bigger games is the time we have to play them - we either have just three games (not really enough), play into the night (some people travel far for these games and need to get home), or run it over two days (not always popular).

We _could_ limit the number of ships in a fleet, and we did that once with B5, but it does cut the smaller vessels out.

I was thinking that 1,250 was a good mid-point - allows for larger ships, but still a penalty to pay if you take them. Makes carrier-based forces possible as well.

I swear my brain worked the following out between reading "1,250" and reading "was":

4 Destroyers
1 Cruiser
2 Explorers
6 Marauder upgrades

Not quite enough points to take a dreadnought, unless

1 Dreadnought
3 Destroyers
2 Explorers
2 Marauder upgrades

Depends on the scenarios, not great for Space Superiority, but tempting.

Deciding whether or not to take a carrier becomes a concern. Fighters are a pain to shoot without fighters. Mind you, my Osprey should show up soon, eh Matt?

Yopu could do what we do with our B5 tourneys and have esculating scenarios - so start with smaller game snad build up to a final big game.

We have had good results with this style of formula...

So where are these full details then?

I've been working my behind off basecoating my 2nd Hawkwood fleet, I'd like to know which ships I should prioritise for the full paint job for the next tourney, and how desperately I need more Griffins...

Well I'm provisionally in. Question is whether to take Hazat or something else. Will the Kurgan fleet be out by then?

Any clue as to when in July the Kurgan will be available relative to the tournament? (i.e. barring postage issues, do you think someone could get a pre-order caliphate fleet in time?)

Yes - we are looking to have the models available a little later this month.
