Admirals and campaigns

First of all Hoorah the books have arrived, and on a day where a postal strike started at 12 noon.

Now down to buisness. As some of you may know I'm going to be running a campaign in short order and to add some character to the fleets I was considering adding a requirement for an admiral to be present in the fleet and wondered what people thought. Is it a good idea? Should it be part of the initial 10 point fleet? Should it be in addition to the fleet? Or should I leave it as an option that people can use if they wish to?

Your opinions are greatly appreciated.

It's an option I was looking at myself. Just as long as everyone's clear before you start on what method's being used, I don't see it being too much of a problem to have the commander being compulsory.

Hmm. Depends on what sort of campaign you are running. Having all ships attached to a "fleet" and having a requirement that it have an admiral is ok. As long as you don't require an admiral to move any ships about.
