Additional IJN Carrier?

Hi all! I am about to order a bunch of fighters/bombers for my IJN fleet and have few quick questions for anyone with the new OOB book. (I Have the original VaS rulebook so just looking for any aircraft changes in OOB).

1) Does the Shokaku change its fighter/bomber compliment numbers at all?

2) Does the IJN get a new carrier with a different fighter/bomber compliment?

Thanks in advance!

Curtis

IIRC the Shokaku air group stayed the same (although we developed asection that allowed some "swing" in the exact composition of air groups).

Many Japanese carrier stats were developed. I've not yet seen a copy of OOB so I don't know which ones made the cut.

Almost every ship on the fleet lists submitted to me made the cut. I think all that went out was a RN projected Cruiser (Yorkshire class? - not sure from memory). It is not as if the RN were lacking in cruisers anyway.

As a result the IJN will have plenty of carrier goodness in the final game.

Thats Great! Any idea from those that have the book on what the air wings look like on the new carriers (Number of Flights and Type)? I have pre-ordered OOB but would like to make my plane order today if possible (because I cant possible wait the week or two for the book to arrive..its sad to be this impatient  ).

Thanks for the info!

Hopefully that should help work out what planes you want to order, without breaking forum rules by giving away vital statistics etc.

Wow! Thats exactly what I need. I can totally wait until the book gets her for stats but now I can order the plans (and new ships to boot).

Thank you very much!

You can't go far wrong getting the big aircraft packs either, as all WWII aircraft have been statted up, and it is inevitable they will end up in S&P at some point soon.

Where do you buy your aircraft from? I have been using 1/1250th scale from Cap Aero (they arent to scale for my 1/2400th fleet but I like the size). Any "pack deals" for that scale?

Thanks again!

Tumbling dice in 1/600 scale. Gives a big enough mini for some detail and you can use them in air combat systems as well (like Wings at War). One fighter is one flight, and there is a pretty good range.

They do a Japanese Navy early war pack, and a number of other packs, like early war fleet air arm.

Just google doms decals or tumbling dice aircraft.

I've been using 1/700 plastic planes. The selection is adequate, the detail is fine, and the price is very good.
