ACtA rules convergence

I was wondering if NA and SF rules would be aligned in the furure editions? I don't expect to have battles between the houses and the Klingons but it's a pain trying to remember two sets of similiar rules. Or is that the price of old age?

That might be an old age thing :)

We have no plans to bring them closer, as one universe or the other would likely suffer...

Well if you add B5 and VaS you have four current expressions of the core ruleset - I have to say I find it useful to have the core being the same but the expressions being different as they do different things while being familiar....

Could be fun to do "generic" A Call to arms where players get to design their own ships. :D

That way you get to cover all "settings" that there are miniatures available for.

So, in other words, you'd want to see A Call to Arms make like Starmada?

Yes - also like Full Thrust or Colonial Battlefleet (and many others I'm sure).

And I only suggest this because there are a few things in A Call to Arms that I really like and would love if I could adapt to my own fleets/settings:

- Special Actions
- Quick and painless movement system (that requires no book keeping)
- Fun crits
- Good balance between firepower and defenses

I realize this is in no way a top priority and it won't exactly sell figs - but it is a blast!

you could always write it up and send in a proposal to MGP and see if they like it or just produce it yourself using their engine (agan best to let them know you are doing it) - there are several fan made packs such as for BSG and Stargate about :)

go for it - its fun :)

start a new thread and then can always post some ideas for people to input if you like
