ACTA - Fighters supporting fighters

Okay, let's say you have a capital ship with 4 supporting fighter flights. In comes a breaching pod with its one allotted supporting fighter flight. How would interception (small "i") work? The rules specify when the ship is "attacked" but the term is vague. When is their an attack? In the fighter attack phase? Perhaps for a fighter, but what about the breaching pods? If the "interception" comes during the attack phase (when attacks are performed), then it would be too late - as the rules say that if the breach pod survives AF fire, it can no longer be targetted. So when does the "interception" occur? If it is allowed to occur, how does the single supporting fighter flight fit into this. Okay, it "intercepts" one of the 4 flights intercepting the breaching pod its supporting, but what if I through the other 3 at it? Do they attack the pod directly? Or are they only allowed to attack the pod's protector? When does "interception" occur? Can a flight that is being protected by a flight that has intercepted an "attacking" fighter act as support for that flights impending dogfight?

When the pod+fighter move into base contact with the ship, defender decides how many flights are going to intercept, and moves them into base contact with the pod. The attacker then decides what the supporting fighter will do, ie. which of defender's flights it will dogfight, and moves into base contact with that. Then resolve all dogfights as normal. If defender uses all 4 fighters it should be possible to arrange dogfights so that he can kill both enemy (put 1 flight on the pod, and 3 on the fighter).

Unsless stated elsewhere I would say that 'attacked' is fairly clear in meaning.

If you are going your merry way and all is well and good with no attempts on your safey then there is no attack.

BUT should anyone or any thing come out from nowhere unexpected, OR expected and begin to get hostile with you in any way that would be an 'Attack'.

Thus in your example, a breaching pod attaches itself to your ship or attempts to attach itself to your ship for the purposes of deploying a force based on agression against you that would be an 'attack'.
