ACTA 2e Hyperspace rules

It would be a game breaker in a 5pt Raid game, if you jumped 3 Ka'Tocs behind (for example) a Dargan - all boresighted and unuable to be shot back at.

well presuming they made their stealth checks - unlike my Scouts against that Leshath - anything but a 1 or 2................

well how many bluestars do you want on your tale 1st turn? no deviation there.
or perhaps any number of drakh raiders coming through a point created by the patrol cruiser (which finally has a use).
its really quite broken.

That and there is no CQ check to fire when you come through the jump point. The scout just has to be present. Just think of all of those ships coming through boresighted on their opponents.

Neither of the examples Greg gives are worst case scenarios, either due to some all around fire being possible, or because of a flat defense possessed in quantity by only one race. A race that could also respond in kind.

This may not have worked out in this case, but I'd be pissed if I drove an hour to a game that was over (or effectively so)in the first turn because I had a warlock drop out behind me and blast through my best ship with out a chance to other than hoping he rolled poorly.

Game breaker...but only when it works. How many games get to be wrecked before we call something breaking? Once we have that definition we can actually have a discussion. Right now it seems the discussion is unless it's broken the game play of a Mongoose tourney, play test group or designer, shut up, cause you obviously don't know what our talking about.

Well at least one play tester on this thread also thinks its broken :)

- I don't know - I have played one game with this rule so extremely difficult to get any idea of if it si good or bad - though I admit I was a bit shocked when I found out thats how it worked.

Boresight is an odd one - i tihnk if you have not got AJP you are prone to both scatter and can't turn so that will effect those sort of ships coming on hot?

It will be interesting to see what happens at the tournaments (and in the aftermath) I am going to this week / next week - eps the Mongoose one..................

have fun!

A G'Quan comes through a jump point with Boresight guns blazing in the series, goodbye Shadow Ship!

only the ship opening the JP cannot turn or anything. other ships do not have that restriction.
