A2089 Flat-Footed at start of Battle?

The D&D 3.0 players guide states that at the begin of a battle before your first regular turn you are flat-footed. Does this also apply to WarMeks?

Had to go and look this one up.

No. P.112, Other considerations. It states flat footed rules are not used for WarMek and vehicle combat.

It also lists a few other bits of the standard d20 rules that are not used.

It did help. With that answer, I believe this unexperienced A2089 and D&D guy is ready to play.
