Didnt vote, cause i I have never held a Starship Troopers fig in my hand, BUT


ACTA stuff ranges from acceptable to seriously nice. (Wont say great, cause theres only so many a details a starship can have) OTOH theres stuff like the Drakh.....kinda hard to actually get any less detail at all :S


Skinnies look cool, but some models are...... (looking just wrong?) I mean more talk bewteen people, in regards to what the concept art overall looks like and the finished product, but some poses just dont look good, and crude model/faces, dont really make it better :S


Course you cant compete with GW on a equal level, cause theyve been around a whole lot longer, are able to spend more money and sculptors and machines. But the problem is that the comparison still stands.

Heck i love the standard MI guys.

But lately it was hald dissapointment with MGP and half hooray.

We'll I'd dispute some of that although GW do offer a pretty high rate for commisions, its not a HUGE amount from a business sense. But you're spot on with everything else!
To be honest the main benefit GW really has is that its run by heartless money grubbing business men as opposed to hobbyists, and are owned by a massive umberella company (Is it the Icon group?).

How come you aren't in on the great game yet, just testing the water?
The rules are honestly superb even if some of the models are a little lacking. I've yet to intorduce anyone to the game who hasn't been impressed.
And this is coming from one of the major critics of the system on this forum

Those Slaves are pretty darn hidious, not only are they badly sculpted but lack any uniformity. I'm far from being Jes Goodwin but even I can can sculpt better models than that...
There's loads of freelancers working out there that could make much nicer models for the SST range imo.

I joined up for this topic. I wrote a rant. I deleted it. Let me put it this way, as a frother and an outside gamer I have considered SST but every time the minis let me down and I just go home to my Infinity. If MGP were to basicly keep releasing but do it more slowly with better quality and more product control not to mention better imagery and then slowly release new sculpts of old stuff that would be perfect.

Let me put this in maths for you; Kev White has said he will do a fig for £400. So get him to do metal LAMI (make EACH one individual). 20x400=8000. Sell at £10 (thuis undercutting GW). All you need are 800 people to buy 1 box and you have covered the sculptors fee. I'd imagine that upon selling 1000 boxes you'd be even for other costs. How the hell could you not sell at least 1000 boxes of 20 individual minis sculpted by Kev White at a mere £10! I'd be buying one for sure and probably 2 or maybe 3. There is no way you can lose. Now repeat with all the metal minis so far (Female CAPS- make 'em 10-15 to a box for £10). I wont claim to understand all the economics but I cannot see how Mongoose could fail.

So hire Kev and all the other sculptors- hell I know you rejected Gubs and E-Bob and both of those provide sculpts far superior to the majority of yours so far. Please.
