A request - Wrecked spaceship images

Da Boss

Mongoose
Hi all - anyone got any images and /or links of destroyed etc ships that could work as an alternative for asteroid fields in a scenario I am working on?

thanks in advance :)

I always thought space battles amidst massive space relics were cool. Like fighting around parts of a Dyson sphere or in some ancient ship graveyard.

Ever play Homeworld? Some beautiful backgrounds in that. Come to think of it, you could probably screen cap some shots and make them into templates

yep thats the idea :)

I've always loved the idea of a human space craft coming across some massive graveyard of starships, relics from a long dead race. Something like the aircraft boneyards that are out in the desert. Just these titanic sized ships that have been mothballed and left floating dead in space for eons, and yet are still far more advanced than anything man has created.

You always put on such fun games! Why can't you be anywhere near where I live?! Or visa versa.

There was in fact a level set entirely within a spaceship graveyard, but I can't remember if it was HW1 or 2.

If you can put up with them being from Star Trek you might be well served looking for images from the battle of wolf 359, but all I can find are blurry screen caps...

Yeah I been trying google but its not getting anywhere - I'm going to go back through my games, comics and BFG books :)

not sure what Homeland is?

The first Homeworld is one of the best RTS games I've ever played...

The third mission where you return home after your first test flight is juat amazing...

I have found one shot of the Graveyard level in HW2, the shipwrecks are huge, the whole level is actually inside them. Probably not going to help with counters though...

Homeworld, both 1 and 2, is this shining beacon in the genre that is real time strategy. Its a space based RTS that is in full 3d with beautifully rendered units and a massive scale. Besides having awesome gameplay, beautiful graphics (even ten years later they still look stunning) and a sound track that can go from erie to epic, it features an amazingly engaging storyline. The arc is breathetaking, as you trek across the galaxy learning the truth.

If you can find a copy of it, pick it up and play through it, both 1 and 2. They are well worth it. The game does feature amazing back drops. Giant nebula, massive constructs, debris from structures so massive they would put the death star to shame. And you can probably find it now for under $20. It was more than worth the $50 I paid for it back around '99.

There is a ship graveyard in HW1 as well. Remember that damned junkyard dog that steals your ships and has more HP than a mothership?

If I were going to build a B5 game, I would build it on the HW2 engine (I'm actually sure there are mods out there for it, the game was pretty open ended for the mod community)

Here is a screen cap, though I don't know how well it will be. I can only get thumbnails of the site through google :( the rest is blocked.

Its from the Karos Graveyard, a region of space in Homeworld that is filled with countless derilect ships. The location is featured in both Homeworld 1 and 2.

Some of the Nebula shots from the game would also work well for templates :P

thanks - interesting pic - bit big for what I have in mind - but thanks............ appreciated
:)

Like I said, all I could see was a little thumbnail :(

Once I get my EA fleet build and painted... and I help my wife get her ISA fleet built and painted... I want to build some random space junk. Start with asteroids, then move on to derilect ships and other structures to use as terrain. I think some MASSIVE relics would be cool to have fleets fighting over. Like single structures that are 4-5x the size of the larger ACtA models.

just found this :)

which are helpful - look forward to your pics sounds great in due course :)

I have my homeworld running under a mod that does a really nice job converting to the B5 universe. There is a Narn/Centauri wars one I run and a EA civil war era one which is more swish with rotating Omega sections and the works. You even get B5 as your base if playing EA.

I actually prefer the graphics etc to the originals which were somewhat bland.
