A modded "shadow" nemisis

Ok, I was making my new Nemisis when I thought it should look like a cross between a shadow omega and a warlock. So I did a bit of modding and this is what I came up with.

Note: I am not quite sure how to paint this guy yet so any suggestions are appreciated

Tell me what you think :)

For my Shadow fleet, I used a base of dark silver, over which I sprayed a light coat of black to give the mottled effect. Here's what that did to one of my Scouts.

The alternative is to paint the dots by hand - good luck if you have the patience to do that! :D

Nice :) I did a similar conversion based on a Warlock hull.

I paint my Nemesis by dipping an old toothbrush in black paint, then flick at about 6-inch away on grey basecoat.. Repeat until you're satisfied. It really gives you that random look.

Nah, just 45-minutes per scout and 2 hours per Shadow Vessel. :)
But then you also get that creepy organic look to it.

Or you use an piece of an fine net tights from your woman and lay it over the dark silver/grey (whatever) based ship. Then you spray it with black.

couldn't you just lightly spray it with a black spray can.
That is exactly what I suggested. ;)

As for using your lady friend's tights; good luck persuading her to part with them, bearing in mind that she's probably not getting them back unless she likes them in black. :) Alternatively get her to buy a pair for you - or buy your own and watch the shopkeeper's face. Nylon mesh curtains might work, too, but don't provide the same amusement possibilities...

hmmm..its an argument.

Or...:idea:8) I steal it secretly and silently from my girlfriend´s wardrobe and when she miss it sometimes, I say: "the dog, the dog was..."

Maybe its the adrenaline rush for some guys... I can imagine how a girl will react if she finds out. I'm not that adventurous, mind ya...

That'll teach me to read things probably.

I was accually thinking of painting it parcially organic (around the spikes and a large portion around them) and then having the rest of the ship normal. I normally play vorlons so I want to experiment with semi non organic paintjob. (I will probably go with the hang painted spots thought because all my vorlons are hand painted and thats just the way I roll)

I found a few pictures of people using optical illusions in there paint to show lighting AKA using light and dark tones in different spots which is what I want to try with this one.

Any suggestions on the easiest way to achieve that illusion?
