I thought so MAtt, thanks for the answers. The tactic occurs to me to get round it almost though. Move to your facing and then ready so you get the extra damage dice on your shoot reaction if you get one.
A better tactic is to move to your facing then just shoot. Hopefully kill some enemy models and cause some suppression so they can't fire back (in reaction), and loose 1 action next turn. Then ready next turn if there isn't a decent target.
It seems to me that readying a MG at the moment is something you only want to do when setting up a controled fire zone, and have no targets in range of your rifles. If your riffles can faire then you are generaly going to be better off firing them and hoping to suppress the enemy.
