A community based FAQ/errata effort

Matthew Sprange has stated that Dredd is a community driven game. For some time we have seen several posts regarding issues concerning rules. Matthew has often been prompt in responding to these, but I feel that we as a community could take a load off of his shoulders. We could consolidate and decide on some of these issues to create a living FAQ/errata to exist in between rule updates. Our decisions could be vetoed by Matthew directly, by updating the rules to state counter to our position or by simply saying working as intended thus giving us a say, but within bounds that Matthew desires for his game. I would like to hear feedback on whether people think this is a good idea or a bad idea.

Seconded - how do you want to do it?

Well, I would like a "council" of sorts to compile and talk about rules questions. They could possibly take place over a voip program for ease or a text chat to keep a record of discussion. Meetings happening maybe once a month. Reach decisions based on balance and judgement. Then produce a document of errata and FAQ easily available to the Dredd community.

I suggest a select group because while the community as a whole is invested, it's hard to hear reason when everyone demands their say. I think 4-5 rational, responsible people should be able to satisfy that it's not a dictatorship lording rule changes over everyone and that it's small enough to function.

I'm nearing completion on running a successful campaign for my gaming group, and I have a strong grasp of the rules and have also had to improvise and create new rules on the fly for the campaign. I've got a good playtest group as well.

I'd like to throw my hat into the ring.

That is excellent! I will definitely consider you.

Any other volunteers?

Well, half the problem is finding it. Right now I think willing volunteers would be more important to the process. I would like 5 in total so one more and I think we could get this rolling.

one minor thing I am stuck on dial up so can't do video chats or similar - on a good day I can manage messenger - on a good day.

Just to add my tuppence to this...

When updating the books, I normally scroll through all these threads and collate ideas and comments.

I love the idea of just going to one thread :)
