2nd Ed Point Buy system for Char gen?

So as a GM who runs convention games of Traveller (mostly at UK TravCon) one thing I found very useful for MgT 1st Ed was the point buy system to quickly put together pregen PC's without going through the whole character gen process whilst keeping the points fairly fair.

Is there a 2nd Ed point buy system for char gen anywhere?

1e system should work just fine for 2e.

I believe they announced the Traveller Companion book will have a point buy system, but that is not yet released.
