So long as you don't use "loose" when you really mean "lose". As wargamers, it's one we see all the time and it's my own personal pet bugbear! :

Aargh! I know what you mean, that one bugs me too! Along with the numerous Blood and Dark ANGLE armies on 40K sites

yup and Calvary, Mimbari, Balvarian etc

I once had an employer incorrectly insist that I correct my spelling of "lose" to "loose" in a document, and every time I see it I'm reminding of what a pompous arse he was!

My pet hate is cavalry misspelled as calvary. One is soldiers on horseback. The other is the hill where Christ was crucified. You'd think people would know the difference...

Misspelled? It's even more annoying when they pronounce it that way!

You know I still don't know whether it is Covran or Corvan, and Milani or Miliani.
I know those two, the only one I get confused about is Ashinata / Ashinta ! I blame Chern and Obsidian for that, their sheets have it wrong ;)

Don't forget canon and cannon getting mixed up.

So in an ideal world alongside my suggestions and the others on the thread we need a online (B5 aware) spellchecker ? :) (well given my usual posting I do!) :)

Actually most of us seem in broad agreement (of those who have checked in) which is nice :)

Or:
Rogue and rouge.
Their and there.
Hear and here.

My biggest peeve is using 's as a plural. Oh God that gets me.

Fix the ABBBAI, they suck. so do the ABAI, ABBAI, ABBAY, ABAY, ABBAEE, AABAEE and any other spelling you want for a made up race of peace loving people who build warships (oxymoronic ain't it).

Nah, fix the Ebay, they suck...oh wait, that's something else entirely :)

My biggest pet peeve is the loose/lose thing, as not only to wargaming sites have loads of mentions of people loosing (sic) but people spelling it correctly aren't even in the majority (this site included).

Sadly, even for those who can conjugate correctly and consistantly, the mad rush to hit the Submit button allows for error. I've had to use the Edit button on more than one occasion to make a correction. ;)

Me too. I am not a big grammer guru, but I try to preview mine so I don't embarrass myself. Some mistakes still get through. :)

P.S. Forgot "Advice" and "Advise". I scream silently inside every time I see someone asking for "advise".

(Advice is a noun, advise is a verb).

("Please advise me what to do." vs. "I need advice on what to do.")

Then again, these things do provide opportunities for amusing commentary. ;>
