Mongoose
Silly question probably, but in 2e, are there any ships that are going away? I know there are tons more being added, but is Mongoose going to stop producing some of them to accomodate more 2e goodness?

I have a decent sized ISA fleet and have heard there are going to be 2 "basic" White Stars, one with Scout and the other with a flight of fighters. They are the same ship though, correct? What about the WSC-2? I've heard the Gunship is being dropped a level or two and might be more usable, is this correct? (I was thinking of buying a couple more models but then remembered they are nearly useless as they are now).

Thanks!

Chris

Both White Stars will be the same mini, yes. WSC-2 disappears. Gunship drops a level and basically becomes the new WSC-2.

Prefect disappears \o/

I think only variants will be going away, no minis will become useless unless you count changing fleet, eg. Shadow Hunter will become useless to Shadow-only players but they'll have a start of a Psi Corps fleet.

There are no hulls going away. There are some variants, maybe half a dozen (Prefect for example).

The WSC-2 becomes the WSII (both base WS and WSII are at raid). The gunship does indeed drop to battle.

The most controversial change is the Shadow Hunter becomes a Psi Corps ship. If you have only a Shadow fleet and don't want to buy a few Psi Corps (or EA) ships to make a second fleet then the hunter will become officially unusable (or course you could use it as one of the two new Shadow vessels).

Does that mean that the Liati will also be dropped down a level, since it is supposed to be a White Star kill, the War level PL would limit its use in that respect.
