2E Emines

I don't have the new book yet, though they are on order. I HATE WAITING!!!!!!!

Can anyone explain how the new e-mines work in more detail? Are they good enough to justify being a one shot weapon?

I love the G'Qann models, but find they were weak imho in 1E.

They are fairly similar to 1e, but on some ships they are one-shot and triple damage. Meaning you essentially get 6 turns worth of SL-emine all at once.

nope. some are slow loading, others are one shot, but its a powerful weapon. a G'quan though for example has only one tube of one shot e-mines.

Hmmm. Crap. I kinda hoped it sill had 2 tubes. It does get a lot more beam though right? Otherwise it sounds like an oversized 2e Ka'Tan.

I would have to defer to the playtesters, and since I don't yet have my book, go only on the results of this thread. But unless there is something I am missing, a one-shot, 6 dice ap triple dammage mine which can't do criticals, and one additional attack dice for the primary beam seems marginal. The G'Quann already seemed like it was undergunned for a signature race's heavy cruiser. At least now, it serves to keep enemy fighters at bay, and with the ship breakers varient, capable of delivering some real punch.

Am I seeing this incorrectly?
