Dear All,

Was there (either from GDW or MgT) an official outcome to the war with the Kafers? If so, which book is it published in?

My memory of the original game is hazy but I recall Mission to Arcturus left the question open with no pursuit into Kafer space. Am I right?

Has anyone created their own post 2303 setting with a resolution to the war?

Ta!

It was covered in 2320AD, which was released (briefly) for T20 and isn't available anymore.

Colin Dunn wrote that as well as Mongoose's 2300AD, but has said that MG2300AD won't necessarily be going the same direction.

Thanks for the update, can you (or anyone) summarise the 2320 timeline please?

(A few weeks back I had a look for a place to purchase 2320 but turned up a blank. Was it printed or an electronic distribution?)

Is 2320 seen as canon?

If it's not around to be read by all, seems hard to say.

Basically, the Kafers (under Triumphant Destiny) attacked Human Space in 2302, but got turned back at Queen Alice's star.

Then the Kafer Over-Suzerain assembled an even bigger fleet and sent it to attack human space again in 2305. They got all the way to Nibelungen in 2309 where they were finally defeated at great cost, with the Kafer fleet decimated. The humans pushed back and took the fight to Kafer Space, and got to Gamma Serpentis and blockaded it. Essentially, the humans had won the war by this point.

However, previously the Kafers had made the mistake of destroying a ship that was carrying a Pentapod "God" to another world in human space. The Pentapods decided to solve the Kafer problem by producing a plague to infect the Kafers that neutralised their adrenal 'smart response' (so they didn't become smarter due to stress/violence), which was unleashed on their homeworld and served to throw the Kafers into even more chaos.

As I said, Colin has implied that things may not necessarily turn out the way they happened in 2320AD (and besides, its events are relatively far in the future of the setting to be covered in MG2300AD anyway).
