Haven't got time to photograph them more properly. So here goes:
Special thanks to Dave Robotham (Court jester) for the super friendly Minbari painting guide; Hugh Paton (McKickaha) and Hagen Bauersachs (Abbot Amourry) for great tips on highlights and detailing; and Adrian Walters (Old Bear)...
Thanks for the kind words guys.. good to be painting again. And i really was pleasantly surprised to see how B5 had held on with FSA and star trek now taking over..
@ Hugh: from what i've seen in one of the last few pages, i think it's gonna be another hot one.. LOL
@ Adrian: now i wouldn't...
Hi, guys. Good to see the forums still here.been missing it very much but work has been murder these past two years.
Finally found time to take up painting again.. Here's my first take on a Sharoos. Still have some fine tuning to do, but i hope to finish several more cruisers and some whitestars...
I'd be lying if I said I came up with the technique myself. I pretty much followed court jesters painting guide. If you give me your email address, I could send it over.
Thanks.
I like to think of that one as the Santavi, y'know.. The bigger guns kinda say triple damage to me..
The real reason was because it had a severely miscast dorsal fin, so I cut the whole stump away and pinned a spare Sharlin fin in its place. ;)
Hi guys,
it's been awhile.
These were the last pics before I took the long break. Hope to start again soon (and hopefully I still know how to hold a brush)
:P
Nice work on the Paks Bani, and thanks for showing how big a Tharnotak really is.. :D
Also, nice idea proxying them for Urikhals (never liked the official model). I think I'll buy a couple of FA ones for that.
I had a similar experience with an IWM Minbari Trolligan. It's definitely not full scale, but I suspect it's slightly larger than FA.
@ Adam: Any chance you're willing to part with the smaller Apollo(s)?
Another splendid review, Demo.. ^^d
Kind of a painful reminder that they nerfed down the Octurion in 2nd ed, tho.. She was such a splendid looking ship.
With 6 AD of 35" DD Beam and 2 Interceptors in 1st ed, a true War level choice.
Oh well, I guess G'quans suffered worse..
Was always wondering how you did that fine little ship. Did you use a razor saw to crack open the hatch? I was always too frenetic to get a good result I guess.
