What's up with the Wheel Special Movement Action?

My point back at the very beginning was how come unarmed vehicles with the wheel trait move NO FASTER than if they took two move actions. Lacking an intelligent answer, you started making a personal stab at my tastes. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am forever working to integrate...

What's up with the Wheel Special Movement Action?

Bah - don't get all preachy about Historical accuracy in this game. I was stating an opinion, not asking a question there. Funny how the actual question I ask people dance around, but let me have an opinion and here we go ... :P

What's up with the Wheel Special Movement Action?

I was talking about unarmed vehicles, actually, and if your vehicle moves it has to reroll hits. However, I don't know why anyone would play that way, and we have house ruled that you only have to reroll hits if you track.

    First game...thoughts.

Stingray, just get used to making house rules. I'd say that when you declare a charge, every model in the unit has to move as far as it can to engage an unengaged enemy model. The LoS rules are stinky, see my posts elsewhere... try fighting inside a wooded area where the entire enemy unit can...

    Popular places for an Ambush...

What happens when: A) A unit in ambush reveals and they are amongst an enemy unit? How could the wall my Germans are behind, or the rooftop they are on suddenly be crawling with Russians? B) Two Ambush units choose the same spot? C) Is there any way that a unit moving into an area...

    Area Terrain and Shooting

The rules state that you can see through cover equal to your size score, and that you can be seen through cover equal to your size score. So, a unit of infantry in the woods can see 1", and be seen from 1". If two units of infantry, Soviet and German, are in the woods - how could they manage...

What's up with the Wheel Special Movement Action?

If you look at the vehicles in the book, most of them are equal to two standard actions... some are even slower than if you moved with two standard actions. Now, I understand that you are allowed to fire or charge in the course of this action, but what about vehicles that are unarmed? What...

Playtest Comments - Early War German Infantry

Gah! You are correct. I had the Panzer 38(t) on the brain. It started in 1939/40. Thanks for the correction.

Playtest Comments - Early War German Infantry

The machinegun mounted in the turret of the Panzer 38(t) was not co-axial. Also - how about including the Marder series? They were based on the chassis of the 38(t), and were used as early as 1940. The M model was in use all the way to the end of the war.

    Bumping up Elites

Well, overall, we liked the initiative system but it did make for a longer game. Also, we found it odd that you could have a unit react, then take an action - because we're used to units only reacting in the opponent's turn. Integrated actions puts a great tactical skew on the game - one that...

    Trouble finding vehicles.

http://wk.frothersunite.com/sc/pulp/ww2vehicles1.htm This site has a pretty large showcase, but I haven't gone through all the links to look. I know that Sloppy Jaloppy has some old pre WW2 trucks, and I am pretty sure www.thewarstore.com sells them. Check with some of us before you place any...

I assume that in this system, reactions are handled normally?

Non-Com and I are going to try the unit activation and initiative system in our game tomorrow. I'll let you know how it works!

    Wirblewind to powerful

I sense that you are anti points value... It would be great to see a mechanic for reflecting the rarity of a given item/unit in points based games but the only way is to limit the number available - which doesn't really solve anything because people still can take them quite easily...
