Just a quick bump on this thread b/c I'm waiting to see if Mongoose is able to stand by Matt's previous statement that the new models would be available towards the end of November. C'mon guys! Let's step up that casting/packaging, us greedy gamers need our toiz! 8) I can be placated btw...

Problem with cheaper resin models is...Why buy the full priced ones then? Just buy your "cheaper" resin models, prime and paint them...you just got your entire fleet for cheaper. It doesn't really make any sense for you guys to expect the resin models to be cheaper. They aren't...

I think they're doing a fan total tastic job with the ship designs. One has to remember that not EVERY ship is going to be aesthetically pleasing to EVERYONE. Pick any miniature wargame that you play...I'm willing to bet that there is a selection in your faction that you feel they could have...

Do we have to wait for the release date before we see the stats for each ship? My mouth is watering! :wink:

If you're looking for optimum composition of your fleet you're not buying ANY of the box sets anyway. Sure you get a dreadnought with every box set, but how many useless strike Cruisers do you have? Police Cutters? Frigates? None of those ships are really..."optimal". I've got over 1500 pts...

In the case of the Federation...wouldn't that effect on the photons simply mean that you're forced to spread your photon salvo over two turns? Normally, a Fed Cruiser will unload his torps and reload next turn. Instead, against a scout, you'll have to ration out your torps, two this turn, two...

I havent washed any of my ships...and they've primed up quite nicely. I'm not a scrub painter either....been painting for some 18 or so years now...trained by GW. Of course I paint as a necessary evil...to get painted models on the board. Primer is Krylon flat Grey, and I paint with Liquitex...

I enjoyed reading it. I didnt think it was too long. If you want to improve...next time, pics. :wink:
