If they are that's fantastic. All we knew here in Ballarat at the club was that Mongoose wasn't making anymore and people had had a LOT of trouble receiving any they had already ordered so people were buying up as much as they could and swapping seemed the only way to finish of your fleet.
I don't know how appropriate this is but just thought since new minis weren't coming out people might be interested to know I am selling off my spare narn (4 G'quan's, 2 T'loths and 4 Sho'kars) on ebay.
Anyway a G'quan is listed here...
We had a simple system of making a map with about 10m planets for each faction competing and a 10 point war fleet each to start with. When people had battles a raid level battle would have 1 planet shange sides from one to the other, a battle level 2, war 3 etc. People came in with...
Well the base line up idea was really what we did in practice with out 2" rule (ie 2" is as wide as a large base) as the stem is so tiny as to be worthless in game. So it was really about you are pointed to part of the enemy ship and can shoot it.
I am still liking our house rule of bore sight having a 2" play which means you only need line it up with the model or base of the ship in real terms ie near enough is good enough which means you can get a shot without having to move it later on to get the lock on afterwards.
It initially...
I have some Chronos, Delphi and possibly a couple of marathon for an Early EA fleet that I would consider swapping for some ships of the Narn, Drazi, Vree etc to get some ships to use in the RPG when I need various ALien Races. I normally run Dilgar and Centauri and the EA just hasn't grown on me.
I have my homeworld running under a mod that does a really nice job converting to the B5 universe. There is a Narn/Centauri wars one I run and a EA civil war era one which is more swish with rotating Omega sections and the works. You even get B5 as your base if playing EA.
I actually prefer...
Well we've often played with the house rule that a bore sighted weapon is just less advanced than a full forward arc, ie the focusing mirrors are not as well controlled etc and so given boresighted ships a 2" arch which basically means in practice that if its in line with the circular base its...
I just had a test run of my Early EA fleet against my own Centauri fleet (wielded by a friend) and got my arse pwned big time, He lost 1 Demos and 1 badly damaged with inconsequential damage to other ships to most of my whole fleet. Normally I run the Centauri (or Dilgar my Favourite) to great...
"What the difference between the EA and the Dilgar at that time was? I don't know. The way they are done in ACtA indicates to me a level of technology far surpassing EA:EY."
I don't read it that way at all. I more read it as a Soviet/German level of tech difference. Especially since the EA...
"In terms of realism, swarm tactics in an advanced combat environment never work. Fielding ten times the number of units against an enemy with a dramatic technological edge will not grant a win (It actually makes for just a target rich enviroment...). "
Well sometimes yes and sometimes no.
The...
we've also found that the Dilgar suffer against EA fleets due to their high number of interceptors and broadside firepower (and beams on the way in). Which we quite like since it suits the gameworld well with the EA charging in as the white knights to save the league.
Making piracy scenarios could be a good one. Seize all the ships in a convoy and deal with the escorts before x turns or a bunch of Starfuries etc from B5 come and get you. Its pretty much from the show.
Have a fleet after you and you must escape through a jump gate before the EA destroy...
What about taking a shadow vessel and making the legs a bit longer and the torso a bit rounder with green stuff. It would be a fairly easy project and would look noticeably bigger.
