Emperor Mongoose
(1) Okay, seriously.. one common compartment to rule them all? It’s H-U-G-E!!!
(2) The overall deckplan make no logical sense, it seems like stuff was just thrown and/or crammed in there. This one needs to be tossed and redone.

It is a party ship, not a work ship. Having a large central area for gathering is an important feature. Dinners, concerts, dances, parties, meetings, and cocktail parties are the purpose for this ship; all of those need a large open space for people to meet and mingle.

No disagreement there. However it's not configured like a luxury yacht is today. There should be more than just one giant open room. For a similar sea-going yacht you have a dining room, an open entertaining room, some have small spa's (facial and water kind), jacuzzi's, etc. Having all the rooms open directly into the ONLY non-cabin room on the deck is odd. One could argue that it's doable, and I couldn't disagree with that.

It just seems like no effort was made into making it to be the luxury vessel it's supposed to be. One only need to google yacht floor plans to see that.

The Rising Star was known for such dilettante parties. http://media.battlestarwiki.org/images/c/c1/Risingstar.jpg

Well, the Rising Star was a liner, not a yacht (in both the original and remake). Sleek design though. But yeah, it was richly appointed for all that sort of thing.

Depends on the room's function at the time. Partitions solve most problems for ballrooms. That is how most Traveller ships are parted-out inside. Does Traveller have jacuzzis in any of its rules? They don't exist unless a rule is written for them.

No one can predict what nobles will want in their ships in an alternate far future timeline where everyone has swords.

Luxuries / recreational facilities can be used for this. 2300AD does have swimming pools.

So you are in the "No blasters! No blasters!" camp?

First off it's not an alternate future, it's just he future. We gotta get to it first before there can be an alternate. Secondly, the game has always been an extension of current-day ideas extrapolated with fusion reactors, jump drives and yes, even swords.

Jacuzzi's were removed from the Nobles supplement. In fact the entire section of ship accessories for the rich and famous didn't make it off the editing screen. Something about not letting the little people have too much of a window into the easy life of a noble or somesuch.
