Will there be a BF:EVO Boxed Game??

The people who made the old west game, are working on a modern rule set, but its been years in the making, and no new news...

Mass combat is hideous to work out.

Well gee. It is not SUPPOSED to be mass combat game...So don't blame rule system for trying to use it for something it's not planned to...

How you think BF:evo would cope if I would use it with 500+ infantry per side and roughly 200 armoured vechiles in total?

Really? So what are all those mass battle supplements, siege weapons, army boxes, rules for banners etc all about?

I don't think Cordas understood me, LOTR isn't a good battle game (although that's what it tries to be) I have no idea what LOTOW is like

Legends Of The Old West, is a cowboy combat game sent in the Wild West, it uses a version of the LOTR rule set, but its basicaly a skrimish game for individual models (well apart from vigilanty mobs) you have your possy of Cowboys, Lawmen or your Gunfighters Gang, each gang is 6 - maybe 12 max, you have one Leader model and a couple of henchmen and then rest are to make the numbers (but can still be fairly effective).

It also comes with a campaign system which is really the best way to play (something like necromunda or mordhiem but I have never played those) where your guys can get better skills (and some nasty lingering wounds) and better kit as they become more experienced.

Its lots of fun.

I could see a more "serious" version of that in BF:Evo where you have your crack boys who go and try to achieve specific goals, this would fit in very nicely with a BF:Evo campaign.

Just imagine the ability to send your SAS in to try and rescue some soldiers who where taken captive in the last battle, or to knock out an enemy command squad. Or fighting a bunch of USMC Force Recon Team
who have snuck into your camp to try and take out your Tunguska so their Cobras can straffe you at will.

that sounds fantastic, I'll have to get it, I also need to catch up on the last few WAB books

I'd like to see a Napoleonic skirmish game or medieval skirmish (think Freelancers)

this is one more reason for you to come to the games guild! A couple of the guys play legends of the old west on a semi-regular basis. We're considering doing a firefly mod, using LAMI as alliance troopers.
