Why mortage changed?

Noticed something strange. Seems mortages between playtest version and final book doubled in monthly payment. In playtest it was 1/500 or thereabout while in book it's 1/240. Noticed this as on playtest ship monthly payment was bit less than 30kCr while the new ship I made with book rules ended up costing over 250kCr per month. While ship is bigger and better abit it still seemed steep so I checked how much the original ship cost and found almost 60kCr monthly payments...

What's up with the change? Mortages too low initially?

Not that we can't cope. Even with new ship group is now financially pretty stable as they managed to negotiate one heck of a deal on robots(40% purchase price! That's neat!) which combined with nice sale price meant that the initial investment of 400kCr turned into 2Mcr net profit so I think group can now keep paying the mortage as long as they don't manage to run into really, really big trouble(though me being GM I'll throw them "some" challenges to test them  )

Just wondering.

1/240th is a 40 year low interest mortgage...

1/500th (with 480 payments) is a negative interest loan; with the official imperial calendar's 13 months, that's only 520 payments, and it is still a near-0 interest loan.

Wait... is this thread about a roleplaying game?

Yeah ...."Paychecks and Purchases". Its great - its about life in a settled tech 8 world without any space travel or aliens. Me and the crew play it while we're waiting to exit jumpspace.....and it sure is a relaxing change from being shot at, fleeing arrest, eaten by alien life, or being blown suitless into into space like every other frikkin day in real life.

And PnP was a comic in the DMG, not Traveller.

And yes I am serious, if your playing a merchants game it is a powerful hook to get your Pcs moving.
