Why Corruption of Ikaya and not Blood Moon Rising?

Mongoose
Though CoI is a good enough adventure, I always thought Blood Moon Rising was a much better adventure. Plus IIRC its slightly longer than CoI so it would give greater value to the customer.

It's available for free here on the Mongoose Publishing website. Just go to the Lone Wolf section and look at the file listing.

And it rocks! Its very close in feel to Flight from the Dark and Fire in the Water.

I also liked Dawn of Destruction too, despite its difficult split opening. I would have preferred with to CoI (again not that CoI is bad necessarily, its just not as good)

I think perhaps Blood Moon Rising may be tied up with Licensing & Rights issues since it was a D20 adventure, I could be wroung.

then again they may wanted to do something new for the new rules set.

Both CoI and BMR appeared as free downloads under OGL. As such, I don't think either of those would have been reasons.

Could be the Licence or Rights sais D20 OGL in the Documents, so without getting the documents amended (at a cost that may be non viable) they can't be re-released.

Then again it may be that Mongoose just wanted to go with all new stuff for the new rules set.

Corruption of Ikaya was released under the same OGL in Signs and Portents. As such, all of this applies to CoI the same as BMR. CoI is not new to LWMPG.

I can say that if I was asked to convert Blood Moon Rising to the new system, I would certainly do so. Supporting the Lone Wolf community is one of my favorite things to do. :)

I would really like to see BMR get the CoI treatment with pregen PCs added to make it an excellent intro/demo. :)

What would folks think of Blood Moon Rising being at the centre of the LWMPGB Con package?

BMR as written would likely be too long for Con play, though it certainly could be cut down to be appropriate.

As said, BMR is a strong scenario with a good plot, atmopshere and it is very reminscient of FftD and FotW. I think it is a great lead in for the MPB and would love to see it positioned as such.

So, yeah, it would be cool.
