Well the scouts are never going to be able to get out of beam arcs on the Sharooses. However the lack of fighters might make dropping stealth and stripping shields a little more difficult.
I'd say it was a more balanced game. But it will come down to careful tactics on the Shadow player's part and beam and stealth luck on the Minbari player's part.
This is more of a balanced game, than the 4 Sharlins. But it does come down to a small fleet of big ships against a big fleet of small ships, which is where ACTA often falls flat on its face.
I'd still bet on the Shadows, but the odds will be a lot shorter.
O.K. I just played this scenario with the Minbari and I lost fairly badly against the Shadows. Keep in mind that my experience with the game is limited and this was the first time using the Minbari. In the random terrain setup there was an asteroid field in the middle and a dust cloud in one corner. The Minbari had to set up first and lost the first round of initiative. There was no fire on the first round. The Minbari had control of the second round of fire. The Shadows swarmed the Minbari fleet on turn three and turn four. I just couldn't deal with the large number of ships and their natural ability to see through stealth along with their scout abilities. At the end of turn 4, I had 1 Sharlin and 2 Scouts left and killed 5 Shadow Scouts and badly injured 2 more. We called it at the end of turn 4 due to time constraints although it would have only lasted another round or two. In any case, I still had fun
If it was a little closer, I may have tried it I had a question though about the special action, close blast doors. In the turn sequence, it looks like that the effect from that special action is applied after each attack (not after each ship or turn). Is this correct? Thanks.
