Triggy and LBH said that the WS2 remains unchanged, however, going on Burger's ship viewer for armageddon stats, the WS2 has been downgraded slightly, it has lost a beam shot and 3 pulsar shots going down from 8 to 5, maybe that is a mistake in Burger's ship viewer maybe not, can anyone who currently has a copy of Armageddon confirm which is right please?

Burger's stats are wrong and I have PM'd him to let him know.

Be your assesstment as it may, those weak "low-end raid ship" WS's won the 14-man Chicago ACtA tourney, fairly clearly! (The players involved were all reasonable enough a group of menches not to take Saggis and the 2xHunter,Scout fleets)

not enough people know how to kill them then when you hav a dargan takes on 2 in the tourney i won and was beating them both and their fighters whithout its own fighter support you know something is wrong.

Actually Katadder the people who play around Chicago know how to blow them up just fine. I had one big advantage in that I was allowed to take 1 FAP of allies. The 3 Vaarls I took made all the difference in the world. I fought the Minbari at 5 Skrimish - 2 Whitestars and 2 Vaarls vs. Lesthath, Tigara, and Torotha. I fought the Centarui at 5 Raid - He had a Primus, Sullust, and 2 Centurians. I had 4 WS and 3 Vaarl. I fought the Centauri at 5 Battle - He had an Octurian, Primus, 2 Centurians, and 2 Altarians. I had 1 Victory, 5 WS, and 2 Vaarls.

Yeah, a well flown whitestar rarely has to deal with being shot. If you are getting to fire you main weapons against a whitestar that player has not taken the time to find the best move available to him. (Well turn one aside, sometimes the 25-30 beam ships do get one free shot.)

On the Nova as a dreadnought vs Omega destroyer. At the time the Nova was the big boy of the EA hence the classification dreadnought. The Omega is classed destroyer due to get the funding through who where torn during / after the E-M war to either upgrading their fleet or restoring their alliance. She is in fact a heavy cruiser / light battleship (various sources incl. for example the EA handbook)

About the WSC-2, rightly so, now they are worth considering when selecting a fleet, while before she was next to useless compared to the regular WS.

4WS = 2 Battle
1 Battle = 4 Patrol or 2 Raid at SFOS stats
= 3 Raid OR 2 Raid, 2 Skirmish OR 2 Raid, 1 Skirmish, 2 Patrol OR 2 Raid, 3 Patrol at Armageddon stats

It's this last bit you're going wrong - 1 Battle point can equal 1 Raid and 2 Patrol. You're giving the War point breakdowns!

Actually if you look in SFOS 1 Battle = 1 Raid and 2 Skirmish. Given that the tournament I was in used Cherns 10 Raid pool of ships, My pool of ships was 1 Victory(4 Raid) 5 Whitestars(5 Raid) and 3 Vaarls(1 Raid)

Frankly, I don't think that shorting yourself PL is too much of a problem.
