Which MRQ book should I buy next?

Sand Rodent

Mongoose
I am running a home brewed MRQ game. I have:

BRP
MRQ Deluxe
Spellbook
Legendary Heroes

Avoiding the setting books, what should my next purchase be? I was thinking the Gamemaster's Handbook, but the Arms and Equipment Guide, Pirates and Monsters II all look interesting.

"Arms and Equipment" is nice but definetly not nessessary.

"Monsters II" is gloranthan creatures (which can be used in other settings anyway), I like this book more than the first Monsters, but i am a Glorantha geek.

"Pirates" and "Land of Samurai" are (historical) setting books.

"Games Masters Handkook" is GREAT, so is "RuneQuest Empires".
If i were you i would go with these two (in this order).

I know its a settings book but Cults of Glorantha Volume 1 ranks as my all time favourite - great production quality, good art, good background, easily adaptable cults etc. And if you are not bothered about Glorantha all the niggly-little errors won't bug you. :)

Failing that go with arms and equipment. Hugely versatile and adds to the basic game nicely.

I would say that the GM's Handbook is the most likely to be immediately useful. Otherwise, it depends on what you need for your world and campaign. You certainly have all the monsters and spells you'll need.

I have Arms and Equipment and it's ok if you have gear-heads for players but I've hardly opened it.

If you are anything at all like me (and woe betide you if you are!!!), you will consult the 'GM's Handbook' repeatedly, look up things in 'Empires' and the 'Arms and Equipment Guide' reasonably often, and dip into the others occasionally.

I do like 'Pirates' though - it adds a smattering of post-Medievalism to the game.

Thanks for the suggestions. I just ordered the GM's Handbook. Empires looks good, but my campaign is new, how much of Empires is based around PC's running things and how much is general nation building, etc...
