Where are the Vacc Suits kept?

Charlie Stross has semi-disowned his Eschaton universe, but the first two books (Singularity Sky and Iron Sunrise) would make a great alt-Traveller setting.

I really liked Accelerando. Though that's more Eclipse Phase/The Culture than Traveller.

To the OP, I would say: All over the place. Main suits kept in the Ship's Locker. Emergency suits in or near the airlocks. Emergency suits under the seats at the bridge station. Each major section of the ship (Bridge, Engineering, Medical, Hold, Cabins) all have Emergency suits with easy access.

The ship's steward is probably in charge of not only maintaining maintenance but also of ensuring passengers know where the emergency suits are stored (may be survival bubbles or some other life-saving device).

The steward would also be charged with the duty to ensure that any alien phyisiology is taken into account for emergency purposes.
