I'm definitely going to release it when it's done. The three most important things for me to bear in mind as I work on it are: common sense - if it isn't obvious or elegant, forget it; integration - it has to be consistent throughout; and compatibility - I want it to still work with other published material.
I don't know how much longer it will take, but I'll make it public as soon as poss.
