I got my first Traveller set in 1978 at a very, very cool Hobby Shop in Newport, RI. I then got the Traveller Book in 82 at a Game Store in Rhode Island when it was released.
Our first Traveller Referee, quite sadly, developed Macular Degeneration later on in life. We sometimes have reunion gigs, and he still plays. His braille character from 12 years ago was something!
We played so many games back then, in many genres, but Traveller was the one we always played when we wanted to get classy. And we were into it. I wish we still had all the maps and figures from all those games...
