What Should Go In Companion 2

Another forum would be great, but message groups? They're just annoying. Nobody with the skills to set up a forum somewhere?

Yahoo groups are forums, but with email/digest options as well.

Yeah, but you have to click on each individual post to read it. This forum-type is much better. (At least I prefer them...)

I could possibly set one up... but would people be interested? (Would it be worth the work?)

But then who would ban you?

Thats one BIG spider.

I WOULD BE IMMORTAL! NO SPIDERS ALLOWED!!!

Somebody else would need to do the moderating part though.

But what's that smell? Oh, that's the smell of a deleted thread and banned beetles in the morning when the Mongoose guys get tipped off...

E-mail lists are far better than forums. They are "Push" rather than "Pull" (You don't have to go looking for new messages) and you don't get the annoying forum behaviour of either continually giving you messages you've read as "New" or marking all messages as read when they aren't.

You can just click the box in your profile to get an e-mail everytime a reply have been posted. Pushy enough? Forums gives a much better overview.

Does the e-mail contain the full text of the reply that's been posted, or does it just tell me I've go to go hunting? If it's the later then its not really an improvement.
Can I reply to the E-mail or do I have to go to the forum to post. If it's the latter then it might as well not bother.
Can I get the messages sent as a Digest for easy management?

No, it's just annoying reminders. Digest contain lots of copies of old replies and some new stuff you must search for among the mess. It's horrible!

There's a link at the top of each page full of posts (expand) to view all their contents at the same time, forum style.

That's a help. I still prefer this types of forums though.
