What ships to assign?

Hello I am asking this on behalf of A Female GM

She has created 5 Drinax Live Events Tables or 1 each for Nobles of Social Scale 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15. Her character playing A Social Scale 13, now 15 thanks to Benefit Rolls, Noble rolled A Life Event in his last term and rolled A 18 followed by a 4+ on The Social Scale 13 Life Events Table. This means that either a distant friend of the family or very distant family member from a former Drinax World has left her/The Noble his/the friend or relation, A Freelance Pirate Hunting Fleet that due to other rolls that I know nothing about has to have between 3 and 6 ships in it that can each mass between 200 and 700 tons, can have a combined mass of up to 1,400 tons and can include both armed and armoured versions of civilian ships and custom made ships created by 1 or both of The GM and the person playing The Noble Pc. What ships would you suggest I advise them to use?

If you want to make it quick and easy, say three 400-ton patrol corvettes.

Out of curiosity, by "freelance" do you mean "mercenary?"

If it was me, I would custom design ships to fit the role perfectly. Using pre-made ships, I would go with one Type RQ (Pirates of Drinax book 3, Ships of the Reach) to lure pirates to their doom and back them up with a pair of Gazelle Close Escorts. I would still upgrade the Gazelles' Sensors and bump the Q-ship's J-drive to jump 2, or at the very least give it extra fuel so it can make two Jump-1s between refueling stops.

The extra 200 tons can be used for a Far Trader to both act as a resupply ship and to transport prisoners or recovered loot back to base or maybe a custom built Jump Ferry that is mostly Fuel tanks and Jump drive to haul back captured ships or wrecks.
