When i was young I could climb trees better than most taller people and on smaller branches. Now I use a ladder or tools, i some case the tall person is the tool. Smart is more versitile than tall.

Any animal intimidated by a few extra inches is not much of a threat anyway.

When running speed was a factor in the survival of the race people were much shorter than they are now.
