A friends writing A Military, not Mercenary, based Campaign and wants to know what rank would be appropriate for the commander of The Personal Guard of A Planet who commands 4 tiny regiments of regular soldiers, 1 and a half small regiments of Elite Soldiers and 1 very large platoon each of Tanks, Aircraft and Artillery? and what would you suggest as The Social Scale. He and I both think very minor General and Social Scale 13 but he and I both want, value and appreciate the opinions of the other users of this site. Please help

Again... depends what you mean by 'regiment' - in modern parlance it's an administrative formation which can contain multiple battalions.
Pretty sure this has been mentioned before... do you actually read these replies you say you value?
In other news, the commander of a planet's forces holds whatever rank the planet's government awards him. Depending on local tradition that could be something quite odd, like The Grand Rifleman or something, because he's the foremost of the world's soldiers.
If you want to use real-world parallels and need to know what rank is plausible, decide on a force level. 'Regiment' doesn't mean anything specific to anyone who can answer your question.
