The low level ships are great would have liked a bit more range on the primus maybe torps or a longer range beam as it is slow and lumbering and it would have made it very different from the secondus

If I rmemebr right, the Secundus is only a Primus Variant.
And it´s more a Troop Transporter / Assaulter.

Like the Assault Hyperion, which is a Troop Transporter mainly.

So there shuldn´t be much difference between Primus and Secundus.

Personally I like the idea of throwing 6 Demos down someones throat, on all power to engines, so they move 21 inches, whilst having a scout locking on to your chosen enemy so your LBM's get a re-roll!

Hmmmm, 36 dice hitting on 4's in the worst case, with re-rolls and the precise trait. And to back that up, if you are in range, and with a 21" move I should expect you would be, an additional 60 dice of double damage twin-linked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It works real well. I tryed it in a 5pt raid game, 6 demos and a secundus, against 2 g-quans and a t'rann. The demos,secundus combo lets you do a real one/two punch attack. The narn big ships were destroyed or crippled before the fighters could do anything much. It actually worked so well I felt kind of mean.
