What is my Dilgar fleet missing.

Stonehorse

Mongoose
Just picked up a friends Dilgar and bought some off ID gaming. Here is what I have.

1 Mishakaur
1 Garasoch
1 Wahant
4 Jashakar
4 Ochlavita
4 Targrath
2 Rohric
1 Tikrit
1 Mankhat
1 Omelos
16 Thorun darfighter s

Not sure how big it is in PL terms, but it is quite large, what would be a good addition to my small invasion fleet?

You need more Omelos cruisers, they're an excellent counterpart to the Targrath and should probably be the mainstay of your fleet. You also need more fighter flights, you don't have enough to fill your bays, and you'll need some torpedofighters as well. 6" range fighter weapon? Yes please...

I would use Targraths instead of Omelos as your main fleet ship, they come with two fighters, and granted have a shorter range on there turret but with two more movement it doesn´t matter, and it has two more dices. They or both good ships do doubt

Well maybe another garasoch, as they are really really good carriers, and u may want to use two of em in battle lvl fights. Besides the targrath, u might want another Tikrit, the Heavy boltar on it is just aaaaaaaaaaaahh

If you use counters as fighters then u might not need torpedofighters, otherwise they are good fighters, and they look WAY BETTER then regular fighters.

Hope this helps. Otherwise your fleet looks solid

I prefer the Omelos, more front firepower and it's agile. Both are good but I'd use the Omelos more than the Targrath.

My main Dilgar ships are:

the Ochlavita (5 minimum, 10 is better)
the Omelos (3 minimum, 5 is better)
and several Jashakar (You have the minimum, but more is better!)

Even though it does not work out point wise... try to build in Pentagon formations of 5 ships. You can then absorb the bonuses for that as well.

You actually like the Ochlavita?

I thought every ACtA player in the world agreed it's underpowered? :?

It is, it so is...I would never in the world use the destroyer variant. I´ve discussed adding a flight of fighters for the Ochlavita, to make it more usable. Another possibility would be giving it a 6 AD 15`inc bolter forward, and loosing the anti-ship missiles. It would be more "right" as it is the original destroyer of the Dilgars, and boltars are there original weaponry, along with pulsars.

And about the Omelos vs. Targrath discussion, I tend to run my pentagon straight towards the place where I find the most enemy ships, and I usually get into 8 inc range so that I can excaust any intercept, with pulsars, and in that way I see the Targrath as a better choice, since it has more firepower(within 10`) and I can use those flights as interceptors, as there are usually some enemy ships left, after my pentagon striked

One small (and not entirely serious) note on numbers.

B5W say 5 ships to a Pentacan, ACtA says 6.

So, since I play both, I've got exactly thirty Dilgar ships...and I'm not too unhappy that there won't be any more new designs.

I don't have room for sixty...

Slightly more in earnest, I've found it difficult to operate both the slow assault ships and the fast strike cruisers effectively in the same formation.
I'd try to make sure you can set up separate viable fleets with both types.

Actually ACTA says 5 also:
Page 40 of the Fleetbook
Pentacon Formations: Dilgar can form squadrons of up to five ships, following all the normal rules for squadrons. A squadron
of five ships is known as a Pentacon, a specialised formation used by well-trained Dilgar pilots to support one another in battle.
The Dilgar player can select a Pentacon whenever it is his turn to move a ship but, instead of moving it as normal, he can force an
enemy ship to move instead. Each Pentacon can only be ‘skipped’ once like this in each turn and it must be moved by the end of
the turn. If a Pentacon is reduced to three or fewer ships, it becomes a normal squadron.(emphasis by me)
