What if..............

Not only that, throw a couple fighters on the base and now you have shields, stealth and interceptors.

And as far as which is older. ACTA doesnt always go by the show, although I would need to watch Crusade again and see if it says when the hunter first showed up. It shows the hunter destroying an omega destroyer but I dont know if it was during or after the civil war. If it was after then the hunter is the newer ship.

Really? hmm, apparently Clark didnt know what he had if he had to rely on shadow omegas then. Tht means its feasable to run them before Crusade if you really wanted to. Plus they could come out with different stats for them as time goes on, after they figure out how to get the shields to work.

The hunter destroyed the Cerberus during the Technomage exodus, hence Galen's rescue of Gideon. Which puts it firmly in season 2 of B5 - 2259.

However given the hunter destroyed an EA ship, it may not have been an ideal choice for Clarke's regime.

I just want to see a ship with dodge 4+, Stealth 5+, Shields 5/5 and Self Repair 1D6. Admitally It would have a damage score of about 5 and crew of the same. But it would be hell of a funny to face.... not.

Maybe the Shadow Omegas were more suited to his purpose, he didn't deploy them until 2261, 2 years later.

I can think of several possible reasons why Clarke used Shadow Omegas in preference to the Hunter.

One is that he didn't know about it. Black Ops decided to keep it up their sleeves in case President Clarke got out of line.

Perhaps it was just a testbed for new technology which was subsequently expanded and used on the Omega. Or the Hunter was more difficult to build, Clarke needed an enhanced fleet quickly, so the Shadow Omegas were a compromise to get something into service while a fleet of Hunters was being built.

Another possibility is that Clarke knew exactly what he had, a stealthy super ship. This was not for use against external enemies. This was for use against Earth ships whose loyalty was questionable. Better to have the ship destroyed out in space and let others know that there were such rebels or risk unpleasant secrets being revealed. And if the ship's log showing the attack ever came to light, obviously that's an alien attacker, not one of ours - plausible deniability. The ship could be used for other dirty tricks for the same reason. By contrast the Shadow Omega was clearly a modified Earth design and could be used openly against publicly known enemies such as Sheridan.
