What if: Wanderer instead of Traveller

I stumbled on a nice fake:

What if the original Traveller designers had been into fantasy instead of sci-fi?

LOL!!!

The LBBs are brown instead of black (like the original D&D booklets), the Nimidain Chronicles labels on the box, and all the other little REH references - that is way cool! Thanks for showing that.

Yes, there's a thread or two about Wanderer on the CotI boards.

Plus, there's another game, called Mariner, that uses Classic Traveller rules in a sailing ship and pirates type of game.

And, let's not forget that Classic Traveller rules were used, officially, in the original Thieves World rpg, based on the best selling anthology novels (Theives World is a personal favorite of mine. The "grit" is close to what we get in Conan with a little extra magic).

EDIT: I've often wondered what Conan would be like using CT rules. I think it would work quite well. Damage is quite deadly, even with a dagger (referring to another thread). And, there's a fatigue function: You can swing a number of times equal to your Endurance score. After that, you're swinging with a penalty to hit.
