What are you using for 2e Counters?

I'm preparing to play some more ACTA with 2nd Edition but i'm finding that a lot of my ship choices for the EA haven't been represented by counters yet. I've made my own counters in the past but in this case, it's nigh impossible to find top down views of the ships to match the established counter style. I could use photos or proxy counters but as most of my opponents have got miniatures, i'm trying to field accurate counters where possible.
Has anyone come up with any clever ways around the problem or is there a cool online resource with loads of top down views which i've missed?

I assume he means counters for ships that have no counters! I don't know specifically which ships they would be, but maybe the marathon, Myrmidon to name a couple

yep, i thought so but just re name some you dont use, you know like thunderbolt ones to myrmidon etc

Yeah, i'm looking to get counters for the new ships which aren't represented by the old ones. Of course you can just substitute but it would be nice to have actual counters for the ships. I know official ones are supposedly on the way but no harm in making my own in the meantime.

you could just try take a top down pic then print it out on thicker paper, you would have your own ships on them then

Aaah but finding the top down pic is the problem.

Actually, i've just had a thought about how to do this. I'll have a play about and see what I can come up with.

well I have them on vassal, not top down for all the new ships but does the job as a stand in.

Well, using the images of the miniatures posted on the Mongoose pages i've come up with a 3d counter which i'm quite happy with. The counter folds up so you have the standard counter footprint with fire arcs and centre point on them as well as a standup image of the ship. I've printed a sheet out and put a few together and they look pretty cool.
