What are good forums to discuss *Classic* Traveller?

On a whim, I recently acquired the Classic Traveller CD. The idea was to mine it for ideas, locations, information about alien races etc.; after all, the price was pretty low for the whole package, and I heard the system was sufficiently close to Mongoose Traveller.

Well. I am in awe! At a first reading CT does so many things so well it's hard for me to believe that it's a game from the 70s. Ok, many of the supplements are from the early 80s ... but that is still like 35 years ago (with half a dozen editions in-between).

I like it so much that I am seriously considering running the (Mongoose) Pirates of Drinax campaign with it, rather than with Mongoose Traveller. However, I was wondering: are there people still playing it, and discussing it on the internet? If so, where?

And while I still like the Mongoose edition better, CT is pretty good. I, too, was surprised when I first looked into it in the early 2000s.

Hmm, thanks, it appears nice but:
1) I've never seen a forum that only allows you to see the first post of a thread unless you are registered and logged in.
2) I've never seen a forum that requires you giving them an email that is NOT gmail, NOT hotmail, and NOT a host of other commonly used domains.
I've tried registering with two emails from two different domains, and neither got (so far) their confirmation email. Bah! Boo!

Been hearing complaints that gmail accounts are blocked from making coti accounts. Is this true? And why if so?

As I've said in a dozen other threads - t's either ban GMail, or deal with 100+ spam accounts per DAY.

I don't have that kind of time, and I'm a stay at home dad.

Make the account with Yahoo, and then I'll happily insert your GMail instead - you can't, but McPerth, Cryton, or I can. Send a PM requesting the swap.

There are decades of discussions there and people who have been playing Traveller since the 70s, definitely worth checking out.
